Skydiving, with its extended heart-stopping freefall, while hugely aspirational, is not for the faint-hearted. However, now there’s a way for everyone to experience this invigorating and life-affirming thrill. You, too, can fly through the sky with our tandem Yarra Valley Skydiving adventure. Scary? Yes, a little. Worth it? Definitely.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT OUR TANDEM SKYDIVING IN VICTORIA

All you really need to know is that you’re about to have one of the best and most badass experiences of your life. However, here is a little more detail so you know what to expect:

Prejump preparation: The training takes up to five hours to complete, followed by an exam. Okay, that part’s not true. We’ve done all the training and thousands of jumps, so you don’t have to. All you need to do is listen carefully to our quick but thorough briefing on body shapes and leg bending and get geared up to go. We do the rest. We also supply the gear.

Going up: The magical mystery machine (aka our faithful aeroplane) will ascend to 15,000 feet (or 10,000 feet, if you prefer) before levelling off and cruising over our jump site. By this time, you’ll be so excited you can’t wait (we like to call it excitement, anyway). Of course, should there be a few too many clouds, we’ll wait before going up, but don’t worry, we’ll get you there and back, perhaps even more than once.

Coming down: You and your instructor will take the brave leap together, freefalling for a thrilling 10,000 feet above the breath-taking landscape. Open your eyes, remember to breathe and make the most of the incredible feeling of freedom. Before you know it, your instructor will release the parachute at 5,000 feet to bring you slowly and safely back down to Earth. You’ll gently land right back where you started, more in love with life, nature and adventure than ever before, and possibly addicted to skydiving in Victoria.

The whole glorious, mind-blowing, hair-blown-back experience of skydiving over the Yarra Valley should take no more than an hour. However, please allow four hours in total to cater for unforeseen weather. We promise you won’t be bored, not even for a minute.

SO, WHY IS THIS AREA A PERFECT PLACE TO SKYDIVE?

It has the best view in the world: During all 20 minutes of your ascent in our magnificent flying machine and exhilarating five to seven-minute descent, you’ll be able to eyeball this stunning landscape (but only if you breathe and keep your eyes open). This spectacular panoramic view includes the rolling patchwork of vineyards across the Yarra Valley, the forested slopes of the Warburton Ranges, and on a clear day, the Melbourne skyline glittering on the horizon. You should be able to see for many kilometres in every direction and get a 360-degree appreciation, but not in a head-spinning way.

There’s also so much more to see: The area abounds with rolling vineyards and rich local produce, so build time in your schedule to explore these local marvels. Beyond the skydive, treat yourself to a wine tasting at one of the region’s famous wineries - think Yering Station, Domaine Chandon, Rochford or De Bortoli. You’ll also enjoy Healesville Sanctuary, the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, TarraWarra Museum of Art, and a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the valley. Other places to visit include Healesville, Yarra Glen and Coldstream. We love these towns because there’s lots to do, lovely places to stay, and most importantly, wine, coffee, chocolate, cheese and fresh local produce. Throw in some cellar-door hopping on top of the skydiving, and it’s pretty much heaven. It’s also beautiful. And fun.

Also, why wouldn’t ya? We always say that life is for living. And what could be more of a reminder that you’re fully and marvellously alive than a 60-second freefall at 120km/h or more?
